Luncheon Held for Scholarship Winners, Donors

Scholarships were awarded recently at a luncheon honoring donors and recipients.

 

 

¼ø»ÆÊ¦app student and Greenwood resident Wesley Spires (left) recently received the Greenwood Rotary Club Scholarship at the annual scholarship luncheon. Spires, a business major, is congratulated by John Heydel. The scholarship is awarded annually to second-year students in associate degree programs and is based on academic achievement and financial need.

 

 

 

 

 

Two ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app students received the Nora Wells Cooner Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Derrell Bartley of the family; Alberta Wright, an administrative office technology (AOT) major from Greenwood; Tana Gibson, an AOT student from Fountain Inn; and Jo Bartley, scholarship donor and daughter of the late Nora Wells Cooner. The scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and is based on financial need.

 

 

 

 

 

Two ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app students were recently awarded the H. Kelley Jones Scholarship at the annual scholarship luncheon. Pictured are, from left, Jordan Kay, a veterinary technology student from Abbeville; Jerry Alewine, dean of health science; and Mary Lominack, a veterinary technology student from Newberry. Awarded annually, this scholarship is available to a student enrolled in the veterinary technology program approved by the AVMAs.

 

 

 

 

 

Two ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app students were recently awarded the PTC Golf Classic Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app student and HVAC major David Morton (left) from Greenwood recently received the ¼ø»ÆÊ¦app HVAC Technician Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Presenting the award is Keenan Tallent, HVAC instructor. Student must have completed 12 hours of core Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Technology courses and a minimum cumulative or program grade point average of 3.0.

 

 

 

 

 

¼ø»ÆÊ¦app student and Greenwood resident Jorge Alvarado (left) was recently awarded the Annie Lee Swygert Scholarship. Alvarado, a criminal justice student, is congratulated by Gus Burgdorf, PTC Foundation development associate. The scholarship is awarded each year based on academic achievement and financial need to a South Carolina resident.

 

 

 

 

 

¼ø»ÆÊ¦app student and Greenwood resident James Dilleshaw (right) recently received the C.Y. Thomason, Sr. Memorial Scholarship at the college’s annual scholarship luncheon. Dilleshaw, a building construction technology student, is congratulated by Richard Thomason, scholarship donor and presenter. Named for Thomason’s grandfather, C.Y. Thomason, who was a contractor for 50 years, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the Building Construction Technology program.
