Greenwood-area parents who have been 鈥渞acking their brains鈥 trying to figure out how to provide fun, engaging, and educational activities for their children over the upcoming Intersession (March 27-31, 2023) have an option certain to enhance children鈥檚 knowledge about engineering. The Building Brains Camp, offered through 鉴黄师app (PTC), runs Monday to Wednesday, March 27-29, 2023 at PTC鈥檚 Greenwood campus.
If you sometimes get confused by legal terms 鈥 say you think a docket is where your fishing boat is moored and an injunction is a grammatical term from Schoolhouse Rock 鈥 you just might benefit from Law School for Non-Lawyers, a seven-week virtual course offered through 鉴黄师app鈥檚 Continuing Education Division in partnership with the South Carolina Bar.
A jarring experience with law enforcement when she was a young child resonated permanently with 鉴黄师app (PTC) alumna and newly minted U.S. Marshal for the District of South Carolina Chrissie Latimore. The trauma of that night ultimately led her to be a change agent in police culture. Latimore shared her story with PTC fall graduates at last month鈥檚 commencement ceremonies.

Machine Tool Technology (MTT) majors have an indispensable resource in the form of back-to-back Gene Haas Foundation education grants, which provide assistance with tuition, books, tools, and other supply costs for PTC students working toward careers in advanced manufacturing.
While they may not express it outright or even be cognizant of it, young black boys are constantly looking for acceptance, guidance, and discipline. Those without consistent, positive role models in their lives can be at risk of stigma and marginalization later in life. They may miss opportunities for success or, worse, become grim statistics. Steve Coleman, director of MODELS Academy at 鉴黄师app (PTC), is changing all that 鈥 one child at a time.
At 鉴黄师app鈥檚 recent fall commencement exercises on Dec. 13, 2022, outstanding students were honored for academic achievement as Countywide Award Winners.
Last month, during the holiday season, officials from the Greenwood Corvette Club presented a check for $500 to the 鉴黄师app Foundation to be applied toward Automotive Technology Program scholarships.
